It is said that while chanting the mantra linking with breathing provides good tool for meditation.
Now the question is how to link up with breathing to get best results.
Means the ratio of duration of time for filling up lungs with breath, duration for retention, duration for breathing out and duration of time before next breathing in.
For beginners it is said to have a comfortable ratio of 1:2:2:1.
1 unit for breathing in, 2 units for retention, 2 units for breathing out and 1 unit before breathing in.
Here 1 Unit = chanting the above 4 lines of the mantra once.
This entire cycle should be repeated a minimum of 11 times per day in one sitting (padmasana preferred).
Let us practice the above mantra as per the ratio with eyes closed and imagining a ball of white light (soccer ball size) 3 feet distance above head.
May be the application of the above mantra and special meaning can be elaborated later, after practicing the above for 30 days.
